Animal Photo Set #3: Monkey Business

4476.jpgWith a third of the monkey species being threatened by loss of habitat, conservation becomes a growing issues for our primates. One in every 3 of the world’s apes, monkeys, lemurs, and other primates is now endangered with extinction, according to a report released this week by Conservation International. With help from the UNESCO and UNEP (United Nations Environment Program), the Great Apes Survival Project (GRASP) is trying to prevent the disappearance of our friends. Still not convinced?   2. Scientists recently published a journal article identifying the 25 most endangered primates in the world. Fewer than 100 individuals remain of some species.
