The Annual Penguin Summit

I’ve never seen so many of these little in one place at the same time. The “conference” in Chile is part of the 15 breeding sites located around Argentina and Chile, with a further 36 breeding sites in the Falkland Islands. The penguin hostspots sites are all on offshore islands, with Isla Pinguino near Puerto Deseado. Luckily, the population seem to increase due to rapid expansion of the Staten Island colony. There is lot to be done until the population increases from 280,000 pairs to 2,500,000 pairs, number which declined due to poor management of commercial fisheries.
