Located in Northern Germany, the Alster river is a 53 km long right tributary of the river Elbe. Every Spring, dozens of swans come to the Alster river to enjoy spring after they spent their winter in the comfortable setting people set up for them around the lake. Hundreds of swans swam on the Alster, cared for and fed by an inheritance. Each year since 1674, the flock has been rounded up and kept under cover until Spring, after which they are set free. Here are a few shots of the magnificent show.
