Ultimate Use for a Green Roof

We are all fans of the green roofs that are constantly showing up everywhere around us. Iceland and Norway are the ones that pioneered the movement centuries ago, the trend being adopted by Germany in the 1960s. When you want to reduce heat, plant some vegetables or flowers or simply give a helping hand to the endangered environment, green is the way to go. But there are some things you wouldn’t expect to see on a green roof. And these are some of them!

  10. Goat poo is little round pellets. Like deer poo. It probably rolls off. Or just feeds the grass. After all, that’s what the urine does…

  13. Green Roofs! Wonderful Idea! …now… FAQ? Considerations like; support structure, watering, soil type/content … zoning. (You know how some cities/towns want to control everything, right down to the ’stink’ on the property…) I’m looking… wondering… how long could it last? More than 20 years? How does it hold up in climate extremes? Temperate zones better suited? Gad! My mind is racing with the possibilities and/or ramifications of this! It would be a natural insulator! Links on some DIY anyone?
